Yoga enhances overall health by developing balance, strength, and flexibility while reducing stress.  Each class focuses on specific alignment principles throughout a carefully sequenced practice.  During class, students release stress, refine alignment, and increase endurance in over fifty basic postures (asanas) and a variety of breathing techniques.  We encourage students to listen to their body, respect its wisdom, and to progress at their own pace.  Practicing yoga is a way of cultivating contentment – on and off the mat.  There is not one 'form' of Yoga that we practice, but an overall relaxing experience to help reduce stress, calm down and re-energize is our goal.

Current Locations:

Verisign Yoga (Dulles Campus): Must be a Verisign Employee to join.

Every Tuesday and Wednesday from 12:15PM until 1:15PM at 21355 Lakeside, Ridgetop Circle III, street level conference room

    • Personal Yoga practitioner since the early 90s
    • Completed the HAYC Teacher Training Program in 2006
    • Currently a full time Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher
    • Also completed Yoga Wall Level I and II training

Booz Allen Hamilton Yoga

Barbara Okerson, RYT 200

Background Information

    • Personal Yoga practitioner for several decades
    • Yoga teacher for 2 years following 1 year intensive training program
    • Currently teaching classes at Freddie Mac, Great Falls Yoga Institute
    • Working privately with client’s recovering from stroke, injury, and chronic illness
    • Working towards certifications in Thai Yoga Massage and Acupressure
